GMA attends BOAO Forum 2025

Boao, Hainan – Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo urged pragmatic cooperation, timely policy implementation, and regional unity to tackle global economic challenges at the Boao Forum for Asia 2025. She highlighted the rise of China and the Asian Dragons as proof that diverse development models beyond Western frameworks can succeed, and called on Global South nations to craft strategies suited to their unique contexts.

Praising ASEAN’s non‑interference and mutual respect, Arroyo cited the Philippines’ swift response to the 2008 financial crisis and historic initiatives like the Marshall Plan and Belt and Road to underscore the power of decisive action and partnerships. She concluded by advocating a revival of the Non‑Aligned Movement’s “friend to all, enemy to none” ethos to foster inclusive dialogue and practical solutions in a multipolar world.
