Cebuano Poem Featured in a Guangzhou Poetry Exchange
Guangzhou, 21 March 2025 – Dr. Erlinda K. Alburo’s Cebuano poem “Patay na Tuod si Maria Clara” was featured in a multi‑cultural poetry exchange with poets and artists from nine countries. Cultural Officer Sarah Erer recited the work, contrasting Rizal’s Maria Clara with the modern Filipina asserting her identity and rights. Nearly 100 participants heard poems in seven languages, and cultural ambassador Zhong Xian praised the rare showcase of Cebuano literature. Curated for National Women’s Month by Dr. Hope Sabanpan‑Yu, the event reaffirmed the Consulate’s commitment to promoting Philippine literature and cultural exchange.
